We do not close topics for the sake of “silencing” you. The forums are a shared space for all of the community. Having such topics is simply negative and provides no positive input for the community as a whole. Us closing the topic or unlisting does NOT mean that the admin’s and moderators are ignoring it. Infact, we see them QUITE prominently. They are still there for us to view and see. It simply is a means to keep the entire community from having to be exposed to it any longer (negativity only breeds more negativity). Think of it this way, 2 people are having a screaming fest in the middle of a crowded lobby. Security should?
A. Leave them to it because they’re yelling "they’re trying to silence us!"
B. Take them out of the public view and let them settle down and cool their heads?
We as the moderatoring staff are simply trying to do option B. Please remember, this is a shared space. Your constant stream of topics created for witch hunts ALSO affect our otherside, the players here for BD. We only ask that you be polite to all here, not only think of your 1 side of things. There are a small number of people who can do anything in regards to what you are asking (to check on a specific player’s account for issues dealing with hacking/cheating).
The admins and moderators on this forum do NOT have that ability (just to clarify). It is specifically the SM team that must react to this. Forum moderators and BattleDawn Admins do NOT have access to anything SM. They are simply doing their job in terms of moderating the forums.
So really only asking here for you to be considerate of the other half. I can only hope someone from the SM team will do something about it. But we are 2 very separate and independent teams. Simply put, those on the BD side have been here longer on these new forums and hence, majority of the moderating staff coming from BD side and reacting to these topics (though plenty still play SM as well).
We on the BD side are online nearly 24/7 as the game simply requires high activity to do well (hence many of us spend a lot of time here on these forums). Complaining on the forums for an SM team member to answer immediately really isn’t going to speed things up… They will still log on to the forum whenever they choose to log on to the forum (regardless of how many mentions or posts you make). Emailing is much more effective.
