We know about the upcoming changes for the Feb 26th update…

A lot of the buffs are simply not enough. Some of the nerfs are too much. Last chance to express an opinion before they put these in as is. With the buffs, come at it from the viewpoint of “What would be needed so I actually would use this item?”

Please consider the poll results. Again, a lot of the planned buffs are simply not enough to consider using those items. Also, the nerfs are excessively harsh. Thanks for listening! :grinning:

Should have put the "Don’t…Just Don’t… Really Don’t " option in the pools.
And yeah the buffs are meaningless…while the nerf hurt.
-20 heat dmg, and -15-19 expl Dmg on the Heat Point… kills the dmg potential of a mech(usualy about 5 rounds in amatch), by 100 heat, and 100 Dmg/mech
-7 heat dmg, -15-30 expl Dmg on Magma, kills the dmg potential for a 3 magma loadout to : -21 heat dmg,-45-90 expl dmg.
Pair it with the usual build, of 3 magmas + heat point… that even befor this nerf could not kill a 2600 hp mech, with ultrahot protector and 3 heat modules(basicly a rounded build)…now it will not be able to kill it no matter what…cause dmg potential just droped by :
-121 heat dmg, -145-190 dmg.

Ps: my test shown that, using murmur/nemo, on a 4 magma + BS build, won’t be able to kill a 2600 hp mech, with 89 res using all the shots… and that was befor this nerf.
The other drones places you in ranges you rather not be, the firefly exposes you to tonto + dual NF range, that outdamages even 2 magmas + firefly by more then 300 dmg.
The flame wave, exposes you tremendosly to hugger builds… of any kind.
Pss: none of the following wepons work due to the low overall dmg of them : CL,DawnBlaze, Sorrow, Savegery, Ironfrenzy… so they are basicly useless, since they rarely hit anywere north of 140-160 dmg/shot compared to 350+ dmg/shot of phis weponry, or to the huge dmg potential of energy wepons once you are drained… so you basicly die befor you can overheat the oponent in some cases.(test were done on similar modules setups, rounded builds, using 3 heat modules setups, and maxy/ultrahot protectors, on different torsos).

The main problem of heat, is it doesn’t kill…even if it overheats 1 time/turn, their dmg output is lower then both types/turn. Also, compared to the high cooling that can be achived using only 3 heat modules=336 cooling, with 482 heat cap, basicly makes it imposible to completly shutdown an oponent… so no matter how much you hit him with(heat dmg), he will always cooldown more then what you heat up.
The lack of kill power. On an ultrahot protector,

  1. the average dmg of magma si 230-250/shot,
  2. the average dmg of BS is 180-220/shot,
  3. the average dmg of nemo/murmur is 30ish/shot,
  4. the average dmg of supreme/abomination is 190-240/shot
  5. the average dmg of CL/Savegery is 100-140 ish/shot.
  6. the average dmg of dawnblaze/ironfrenzy is 120-160/shot.
to go thru a 2600hp mech with ultrahot protector :
You need about : 14-20 shots of wepons and drone… that translate to about 7-10 turns.
You usualy die within 4-6 turns, when faceing phis or energy.(average battle duration/1 mech)
This is what 100+ battles of experimenting have yeld me, thru 2 days of testing different setups… without using heat point.

Actually, I’d like to nerf ShockWave’s damage by a bit, about -10. That damage is quite strong.

And why would you want Void to be buffed more? That thing is pretty great on it’s own!

#5

Nice post El Metre…
That has always been the issue with Heat, HeatPoint helped to make up for that

I guess we’ll see how things pan out… I’m actually jumping ship and sporting a Dual-Phys lineup most of the time these days, or 1 of each

#6

Void is much too weak compared to Tonto
+1 Phys Resist Drain is not going to help someone pick it over Tonto

#7

Especially when fighting against 145 res mechs

#8

Can’t keep adding phys resist drain to Void though, or it just becomes a greedy with higher damage.
so either
(i) buff both Void and Greedy (maybe damage for void, and energy/heat cost for Greedy), or
(ii) Nerf Tonto damage, or make Tonto heavier

#9

These buffs are like taking a cup of sea water off from the ocean and expect it make a huge difference

#10

More like climate change

some people think it’s devastating, some think it’s nothing

#12

Climate changed so much there was snow in may last year

#13

It’s called H.A.A.R.P.
