For my Gaming PC GPU

Alright, thank you for visiting.
I am getting a Gaming PC with a budget of about $1500. Should I wait for Navi 5700 or just get a 2080? I’ll be gaming at 1080p

i7-8700K/R7 2700X and RTX 2080 if you don’t want to wait. But if you don’t mind waiting you might as well wait for 3rd Gen Ryzen and Navi 5700

I have a pc worth 500$.
It’s a piece of trash that runs on a 530 video plaque,7th gen i3 (7100) and idk what other software.Pretty much the most average pc.

Would you believe me if I told you that I have 2 monitors displaying an incognito Chrome page each with around 60 tabs each, one SM,one AQW,one the forum,a Youtube page that plays metal non-stop,a couple anime tabs,a couple AQWWiki tages (by that I mean around 15 cuz I’m a hardcore player),some porn and some other random sites that runs altogether on both screens and every tab works perfectly at the best quality?

Like really.Just having two monitors uses a lot of power, pretty much splitting your PC’s performace in two. Then this crazy amount of tabs and it’s still running. Most of them being permanently running. And yes,it still works.
(Although the performance goes so downhill after 6 hours of continuous torturing this way,but it’s more than understandable. After all,my comp is used to being messed with at least 8 hours a day)

If my shit budget PC can do all that astronomical shit and still run perfectly, then trust me,a 2080 is more than enough for literally anything you need,on any number of screens.

Well, that’s still better than my laptop. A dual-core i5-2520M with no dedicated GPU. That overheats and automatically shutdown at random times, other times it just BSODs.

BTW how much RAM does your PC has?

2 BG RAM theoretically, but practically 1 GB for each monitor.

Is that Video RAM or System RAM?

How the hell did you open so many chrome tabs with just 2GB of RAM? I’m pretty sure you’re talking about VRAM.

I…Don’t know the difference. It only says RAM.2 GB RAM.

VRAM and system RAM are different.

RAM (system RAM) is RAM that are mounted on your motherboard, this is used by the system to momentarily store running programs, the more RAM you have the more program (or tabs) you can have running. Windows 10 requires at least 2GB of RAM (64-bit version) but that won’t be enough for heavy use, all but the cheapest and most basic Windows 10 systems will come with 4GB of RAM or more. 8GB of RAM is usually the standard for mid-range laptops, while gaming PC usually come with 16GB of RAM or more.

VRAM (Video RAM) is RAM that are mounted on your graphics card, this VRAM is used to store the image data that the computer will display and acts as a buffer between the CPU and the graphics card, therefore, having lots of VRAM is important to run graphically-intensive programs (particularly games.) and even more important if you’re doing a multi-monitor setup.

You’re probably talking about VRAM, since regular RAM isn’t “split” across monitors. But VRAM does (IIRC)

That’s an interesting question.

Padaruyos, my guess is he’s talking about system RAM. Simply, because he says he doesn’t know the difference. It’d be interesting to find out which RAM he’s referring to.

It’s possible, but that’s highly unlikely. If what @L4K3 says is true, 2 chrome windows, each with lots of tabs, one with sm, aqw, then some anime tabs, youtube, then sm and aqw forum tabs and dozen of other random webpages, all that? With only 2GB of RAM? That’s impossible. And with the price of $500, 4GB of RAM is the bare minimum.

BTW @L4K3 are you sure it’s RAM and not VRAM? Try taking the screenshot of Windows Task Manager.

Padaruyos, by the way, why do you’ve a sad face for a profile photo?

It’s the sad face from Blue Screen of Death. I just use because nobody has used it before.

Did you were forced to separate “porn tabs” and “random tabs” ?

Because I’m not sure everyone here wants to know why you’re called “lake”…

I’m just messing :joy_cat:
But still, was it really necessary to add it ?
