[Buffs to Lesser Used Torsos] Interceptor, Nightmare and Sith

In another thread, I had suggested some new Anti-Phys Torsos, but something else that should be done is buffing up some of the lesser-used torsos

When we look at the possible Max-Myth Torsos, the three that stand out as the least used (Interceptor, Nightmare and Sith), typically have the lowest weights, but also the lowest starting HP (Sith is exception, but Grim Reaper has tons Energy/Regen to make up for it)

  • INTERCEPTOR (309) 860 HP 193/56 Energy 265/80 Heat Resists - 16P/22Ex/22El
    ARCHIMOND(L) (329) 1051 HP 193/64 Energy 193/64 Heat Resists - 16P/22Ex/22El
    AVENGER (350) 1242 HP 193/64 Energy 145/48 Heat Resists - 16P/22Ex/22El

  • NIGHTMARE (315) 879 HP 193/64 Energy 290/96 Heat Resists - 22P/16Ex/22El
    BRUTALITY (341) 1033 HP 217/64 Energy 290/88 Heat Resists - 22P/16Ex/22El
    WINDIGO (345) 982 HP 217/72 Energy 301/112 Heat Resists - 22P/16Ex/22El
    ZARKARES (362) 1136 HP 193/64 Energy 312/112 Heat Resists - 16P/24Ex/16El

  • SITH (321) 930 HP 245/112 Energy 193/64 Heat Resists - 22P/22Ex/16El
    GRIMREAPER (329) 879 HP 346/112 Energy 193/64 Heat Resists - 22P/22Ex/16El
    NAGA (335) 982 HP 279/104 Energy 193/72 Heat Resists - 22P/22Ex/16El

Problem:

  • The initial idea seems that these three with lower weights have the most flexibility in their build. The reality is that in a meta where high-damage OP physicals are dominating, low HP is a severely detrimental trait, and that can’t be overcome with modules alone (esp. since only Iron Plates are available for most)

Solution:

  • Add a small buff to HP (+20) to narrow the gap, but also increase Resists (+2) to be the best in the group. Even though these mechs start at lower HP, the increased resistance makes up for the intitial deficit. Remember, 2 extra resistance can save up to 6HP/round, which equates to 30+ HP over a 5 round fight

  • INTERCEPTOR (309) 880 HP 193/56 Energy 265/80 Heat Resists - 16P/24Ex/24El
    ARCHIMOND(L) (329) 1051 HP 193/64 Energy 193/64 Heat Resists - 16P/22Ex/22El
    AVENGER (350) 1242 HP 193/64 Energy 145/48 Heat Resists - 16P/22Ex/22El

  • NIGHTMARE (315) 899 HP 193/64 Energy 290/96 Heat Resists - 24P/16Ex/24El
    BRUTALITY (341) 1033 HP 217/64 Energy 290/88 Heat Resists - 22P/16Ex/22El
    WINDIGO (345) 982 HP 217/72 Energy 301/112 Heat Resists - 22P/16Ex/22El
    ZARKARES (362) 1136 HP 193/64 Energy 312/112 Heat Resists - 16P/24Ex/16El

  • SITH (321) 950 HP 245/112 Energy 193/64 Heat Resists - 24P/24Ex/16El
    GRIMREAPER (329) 879 HP 346/112 Energy 193/64 Heat Resists - 22P/22Ex/16El
    NAGA (335) 982 HP 279/104 Energy 193/72 Heat Resists - 22P/22Ex/16El

Thoughts?

  • These changes would make me more likely to select these Torsos
  • These changes are not enough to make me consider using these Torsos
  • These torsos are fine as is

I’m genuinely not sure if we can solve “high HP torsos are the best because engines are 25kg and plates are 40kg” anyway, but I am generally in favor of torsos having more HP.

Nightmare and Interceptor requires more hp, I agree.

However, I think Sith is just fine. 930 hp is enough to go over 1.6k hp with 2 plates. Of course, don’t put it against damage types.

i agree they needs buff so they could compete at higher levels/ranks, and it will be a welcome change to the depressing zark/claw landscape…
i am using nightmare as my primary mech’s torso, and it’s stats…well, just nightmare…

No buffs to night mare sith or interceptor
With plat plates they will be Soo damn op because of their low weight

good for me as I do have some plat plates

Good point

I really think the game needs Steel Plates as the best solution…

Myth plates are too hard to get
Iron plates are not good enough to makeup for the difference

Steel plates would be just right! :grinning:

Ugh… 1600 HP on an Energy Mech vs Phys at 2200+ and dealing all that damage

Energy Mechs need love too

The problem is very few have those plat plates

And it doesn’t solve the problem of just seeing too many Zarks

So it would be better either to nerf zarkares or buff all the torsos

Actually, a better idea would be to introduce Steel Plates… so that everyone can properly upgrade their low HP Torsos

Simple solution:

Make plates go from common to mythical
Period

Not gonna happen
Tacticsoft has to make money out of it somehow

No money is made by making all current Iron plates go from Common to Mythical

Having a Steel Plate (available @ Epic) in a portal will create tons of sales. Players have been wanting this for some time and tokens WILL be spent

Tokens = :dollar: :dollar: :dollar: for Tacticsoft

Bro, there are many l-m items being chased by many.

It’s not like they’ll instantly go bankrupt if plates go from c-e…

How does everything always become about fucking myth plates somehow.

Think I’m exaggerating? I challenge you to find a popular “X needs buffed” or “we gotta nerf this Y thing” thread where it lasted to its natural conclusion without some ■■■■ interjecting a lazy “muh plat plates” comment.

I could just as easily pipe up about the claw, or someone else could come in and say actually the spartan’s damage is to blame and I’d take bets on how long it takes for it to be deemed off topic and for the thread to be split but for some reason everyone seems to have got together one day and decided a little bit of token plat plate hate is A-okay in any and every thread conceivable.

Anyway on topic: the low weight justified their low stats in my opinion. It has been used for this advantage well by players such as last of the wilds who uses three mechs with one of these.

i’d say just give them more res
and a bit more hp than 20

maybe +35 hp
and +7 res
this way the hp is not so trash and they have more res than the common other torsos making them somewhat useful
